My research shows that capacitors really aren’t used in DC circuits. Are students going to have to build a circuit with a capacitor? If so no current goes through with the small voltage we have.
Students will not be asked to build a circuit with a capacitor
But questions regarding a capacitor can be asked on the test and the students should know:
Capacitors store charge. In general capacitors can be used in DC circuits (think camera flash) – where you take advantage of discharge. Can also be used if you want to have something like an led fade slowly.
