Q1: For 2nd graders, do they need to know both metric and standard/English units for their measurements (length, volume, mass/weight)? The detailed event instructions provide a link to the grade level expectations for the Ann Arbor School District, but that link does not provide information regarding units.

A1.  Length: centimeter, meter, inch, foot

Volume: No questions to calculate the volume.

Mass/Weight: gram, kilogram, ounce, pound

No conversion between the two systems

Q2: Do the sheet that each team gets have the questions and space right after each question for the answer? Or could there be two questions in a paragraph with a single space for both answers?
A2.  Yes. There will be enough space for all answers
Q3: Does each station have a paper with the question in it or do the stations just have the station number marked plus the props?
A3.Stations will have a paper with the question
Q4: Do they need to learn oz for volume?

A4. There will be no question asking them the volume of anything. But, they will need to know what are the simple units for measuring liquid (ounce, pint, quart, gallon, milliliter, liter). For example, they can get a  question like  how much water in a cup. Give the answer in milliliters
