Q1: Will the 4th graders and 5th graders have different tests? During the orientation we were told that there would be minimal calculation. Is it correct to assume that the calculation will be less than the example questions on the website “mathsisfun”?
A1 – The content covered on the 4th and 5th grade tests will be similar, however the questions will not be the same. There will be less calculation focus than found on typical math is fun examples.
Q2. Could you give some examples on how knowledge in science and geography would be required to solve the problems?
A2 – This event is not meant to be a test of science or geography, which is why we say we only very basic physical facts from the standard curriculum. For instance, a chart may describe temperature, weight, etc. – students should know what these are.
